Health and Well-being

Designing for humans and the planet as one to improve the physical, mental, and social health of people and natural systems.

Moss Air Purifyer developed by Will Pepi PhD, founder of BIOM.

As climate change progresses, quality of life is compromised. The effects of climate change on migratory patterns, food scarcity and access, heating and cooling and ecological changes in the environment deeply impact the way we live and work. Designing for humans and the planet as one, we are focused on this line of research to improve the physical, mental, and social health of people and natural systems.

CASE’s body of research focused on improving health and well-being in the built environment includes projects that involve both long-term academic research and partnerships with professional offices or non-profits to engage in research and analysis. Our established and successful partnerships include applications for indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring and improvement, healthy schools, natural materials and bi-products, data collection and analysis for trends in urban environments and more. CASE is dedicated to implementing these applications in ongoing community engagement based projects, with the intention that our work will help to drive impact and catalyze positive change when released to broader research communities, policy makers and industry partners.
