Cultivate










Co-op City, NY
Cultivate is located in the heart of Co-op City, NY, with the intention of cultivating crops, commerce, and community through its unique and expansive program. Cultivate addresses the food desert crisis in Co-op City with over 110,000 square feet of farming program, in addition to dining, retail, and educational spaces. From the plant cells to the program itself, the modular aspects on multiple scales was designed to complement the workflow of sustainably growing, storing, and relocating food in and from Cultivate. The functionality of the building was a focal point in its design; thus the function is being celebrated by exposing ancillary functions and structural elements that would normally be hidden from public view.
