Mariam Tharwat
Mariam Tharwat graduated from CASE with a Master of Science in Geofutures. She is from Huntington Beach, California. Prior to CASE, she attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where she received a bachelor's degree in Architecture. Her research at CASE so far looks into the role of the architect in the metaverse and the potential architectural practices that could develop in this immersive virtual reality. Her thesis also investigates the architect’s ability to relate the design work in the metaverse back to physical reality where it tackles challenges of the 21st century from ecological, sustainable, and technological perspectives.
