Kathie Brill
Program Manager, CASE
Kathie Brill is a planner, preservationist and community development professional and is currently the Program Manager of CASE. She earned her M.S. in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design and a B.A. in Architectural Studies from Connecticut College. Previously, she worked at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and Grand Street BID where she acted as a community outreach manager supporting small businesses, providing public resources and engaging in urban development at the neighborhood level. At both organizations Kathie worked to expand programming, communications strategy and networks to optimize organizational impact.
Kathie is a Brooklyn native and cares deeply about the evolution of the built environment in New York City. Her graduate research focuses on community resilience in the Rockaways after Hurricane Sandy, analyzing post-storm intervention and urban policy and resulting effects on the intersection of heritage and the built environment. Throughout her career she has worked for several non-profits and public agencies with a common mission to support communities in urban environments, and brings 8 years of experience in administration, communications, and organizational management. She is thrilled to be a part of the CASE team and to support the growth of the Center as a leading institute in sustainable, interdisciplinary and groundbreaking design.
Outside of work Kathie enjoys making art, cooking and spending time outdoors.
