Gillian Strothenke
Gillian Strothenke is a CASE alumni through the Arch Away program. She graduated from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Architecture. Gillian comes from Saratoga Springs NY, and her interests lie in the implementation of renewable energy sources as part of architectural design in both new and existing construction.
During her experience at CASE in Spring 2022, Gillian participated in the FROG project, a prototype of a building unit with the intent to limit construction and labor costs given the “plug-and-play” nature of assembly, as well as limit the amount of embodied and operational carbon in its design and function. This proposed building will be powered by geothermal, solar, and/or wind energy based on the feasibility of each given the environment that surrounds it. Gillian is continued work on the FROG project through an Undergraduate Research Program at the RPI campus upstate during the Fall 2022 semester.
